Antique Victorian Scottish sterling silver three-piece travelling communion set consisting of a covered chalice, an annointing spoon, and a ciborium, in original velvet and satin-lined presentation box. Both the chalice and ciborium have sealed lids with cast gold-gilt cruciform handles. The chalice is engraved with Sanguis Christi (blood of Christ), and the ciborium with Corpus Christi (body of Christ). The spoon has a gold-gilt bowl, twisted stem, and a cast figure of Christ. The chalice was made in Edinburgh in 1872, whereas the Ciborium and spoon were made in Glasgow in 1867. Height of chalice 13 cms (5 inches), length of spoon 12 cms (4.75 inches). Total weight approz. 183g (5.9 troy ounces).
