Antique Georgian sterling silver teapot with straight-sided and shaped body, with straight spout, wooden finial and scroll handle, domed oval hinged lid, and bright-cut engraved decoration. Made by George Gilks of London in 1787. Length 31 cms (12.25 inches), height 19 cms (7.5 inches), width 12.5 cms (5 inches). Weight approx. 585g (19 troy ounces). Please note that this has an engraved armorial crest on one side.
